Supporting Mental Health in Pharmacy Practice

Throughout this course, you’ll explore the key issues surrounding mental health and mental wellness, with a focus on how pharmacy teams can support patients living with mental health difficulties. You’ll gain practical knowledge on understanding patient perspectives, recognising the impact of illness, exploring attitudes to medicines, and appreciating the importance of access to and quality of services. The course also covers how pharmacy staff can help reduce stigma and provide compassionate, evidence-based guidance, reinforcing your role as a trusted and approachable source of support in the community.

There are two tailored versions of this programme: one designed specifically for pharmacists, and another adapted for counter staff, ensuring the content is relevant and accessible for every member of the pharmacy team. The course will be delivered in a structured, drip-fed format over three months, allowing time to reflect on learning and apply it to daily practice.
